A glimpse into my preparation for a typical smaller corporate event, background music, 35 people at the Wigwam Resort at 6:00 PM.

10 AM plan out my day, get maps ready. Because of rush hour, I’m allowing an hour and 40 minutes. I only play at the Wigwam a couple times a year, so I got a map of the property.

 

2:30 PM pack my equipment, get dressed. 

The nice thing about smaller events is that all my sound equipment fits in the back of my car.

 

5:30 PM Set and ready to play, per agreement with client. This vid gives an idea of my compact setup.


6:00 PM-7:00 PM first set.

7:00-7:15 break.

I play background music with my mp3 player so the event goes on.

 

7:15-8:00 PM second sect

8:00-8:15 break. If the client has a program or something comes up, I can change my schedule on the fly, of course.

8:15-9:00 PM third set

9:00 I check in with the client to see if they need me to stay longer. If not, and the event’s over, I pack up and head on home.
